Pikes Peak From Colorado's Eastern Plains
There was one day where I rode my bike from Manitou Springs out east onto the plains of eastern El Paso County. In the photo above, I was looking back west towards Pikes Peak on State Highway 94, just uphill from what is sometimes referred to as "Dump Hill." One unique feature about living in the Colorado Springs area is Pikes Peak's towering presence often acts as a landmark for those in town. Indeed, it is fairly difficult to get lost for long in Colorado Springs when one can see where is geographically position in accordance with Pikes Peak. ;) -Steve (October 6, 2006) -This photo was provided by Steve Garufi in Buena Vista, Colorado.
